As the Manta hits the half-century mark, we will honor it with a display in Building Y. The display will feature the Manta along with a mix of other Opels.
Beyond the Manta, Carlisle will play host to the 15th annual Opel Nationals, which comes to IPN every five years. During the Opel Nationals we typically see well over 50 Opels at the show. To coincide with all of that, this is the club’s 25 anniversary at Carlisle. The name may have changed over the years to its current “Opels at Carlisle”, but the same spirit of Opel enthusiasm has been coming to Carlisle for 25 years! That’s quite a history but it’s even more impressive for a company that hasn’t imported cars to the US in almost 50 years.

The Renault Owner Club of North America is putting together a unique display featuring Renaults made in the 1980s. This will be a celebration of everything Renault from this decade.
The Renault Owner Club of North America is putting together a unique display featuring Renaults made in the 1980s. This will be a celebration of everything Renault from this decade. We are specifically looking for any of the cars Renault made for the North American market from the period, but also any Renault cars originally imported into the country on the gray market. We’re also in search of newer models that have been brought into the country due to their twenty-five-year exemption. We are looking for Renault 18i and four-door Renault LeCars, which are celebrating the milestone of forty years since their introduction. Also being considered are the Renault-developed Eagle Premier and Dodge Monaco, which were built in Canada.
We want to gather as many variants of Renaults that were sold in the 1980s as we can find, and Carlisle is the perfect place attempt to stage such a gathering. If you have a Renault made in the ‘80s, Please visitCarlisleFeatures.com to register for this unique display. Then make plans to join us this spring at the Carlisle Fairground May 14th and 15th.
Part of the Featured Vehicle Display in Building R
Over the years we have had a number of examples of US Market, French built, Renault 12s as well as many of their other variants built in other markets. With the assistance of Renault 12 USA and Dacia 1300 New York, we look forward to a definitive display of the Renault 12 which will include the largest number of examples ever displayed in North America. We’re honored to have the Central PA Chapter of the Renault Owners Club attempt such a display at Carlisle!

Starting in 1971, Renault offered one of the world’s first mid-size front wheel drive cars in the US Market. Not only was it’s spacious, it also had a comfortable interior, modern styling, and good performance along with low fuel consumption. Sales of the Renault 12 continued in both the US and Europe throughout the decade, but by 1980 it was on its way out in those markets, although it continued to gain ground in other markets including: Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and other Latin American markets, as well as Romania, Turkey, and Yugoslavia in Eastern Europe. The last R12 was produced in 2000 in Turkey, while Romanian automaker Dacia continued producing the R12-based 1310 sedan and wagon until 2004 and the R12-based Dacia Pick-Up until December 2006.
If you own a Renault 12, Dacia, Corcel, or one of its other cousins, please visit CarlisleFeatures.com and make plans to join us in May.

Drift Limbo will take over the drift course on Saturday afternoon of event weekend.
Made popular by video games like Forza, Drift Limbo will take over the drift course on Saturday afternoon of event weekend. Back by popular demand, this competition incorporates the skill of the driver to not only control the car but to also drift through a set window of space. The way drift limbo works is two cones will be setup as a window to drift through. Each competitor will have to drift through the window. As the competition rounds progress the window will slowly get narrower until a winner is crowned. A competitor must be registered for the non-judged showfield at minimum and have completed the necessary registration and tech through our friends at NICO Club at least one hour prior to this activity's start. Signup for the contest at the NICO Club tent!
Join us at the autocross track Saturday afternoon (time TBA) for the fun.

The Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals will feature an EXPANDED exhaust contest, meaning more cars and more fun!
Ready, set, go! Car owners have the chance to showcase just what their car sounds like in a standalone environment. Now, you don’t have to rev your engine just to turn heads. On Friday and Saturday of event weekend all eyes will be on you and your car. Don't miss this cool competition as cars will start in a line on the east side of the grounds near the pavilion and roar as they accelerate up the hill to the north side of the grounds.
This time of rapid acceleration in the awesomely modified IPN show cars creates an unmistakable sound that will draw guests from across the grounds. It’s free to participate and it doesn’t matter what you put into the competition. This will also be judged but take note, the best overall sound will take home the prize, not necessarily the loudest. If it has an engine and can go, it’s eligible! Sign up at guest services throughout the weekend and have some fun on Friday and Saturday. Please note, you MUST be registered on the Showfield to be eligible to participate.
The contest consists of two rounds, with each round hosting 20 cars. You must sign up in Guest Services prior to each round. Sign ups start at 7AM on Friday. Cars will be accepted for sign-up on a first come first served basis and we do expect each round to be filled so please sign up early. The qualifying round will take place on Friday afternoon at 4PM and second qualifying round will begin on Saturday morning at 10AM. From the two rounds we will select approximately 20 cars to move on to the finale on Saturday Afternoon. The list of who qualified for the finale will be posted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Guest Services Building near the Grandstand. The finale will then begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday. You must participate in a qualifying round to have a chance to participate in the finale!

With the lowest limbo, we’re taking a cue from the Caribbean on how we will determine the lowest car or truck at the show.
With the lowest limbo, we’re taking a cue from the Caribbean on how we will determine the lowest car or truck at the show.
Instead of measuring from the driver door or the roof, we figure the best way to see who is lowest is to make them limbo. We will have a vehicle limbo bar set-up in multiple increments. Each car or truck must make their way under the bar without smoking tires and without knocking the limbo bar over. The last vehicle not to knock off the limbo bar wins!
Pre-registration is required at Guest Services. A show sticker (i.e. registered for vending or showfield), driver’s license and proof of insurance are required. The activity takes place Saturday.
Congratulations to our 2020 Low Car Limbo Winners:
1 ‐ Miles Deshay- 1992 Mazda Miata

Posters will be available at the show for $10 and can be picked up at either the Saab Tent or Building R. All proceeds will be given to Carlisle Toys for Tots. While it may not be possible to drop a Toys for Tots donation in John’s car, this poster might at least serve as a memory of previous years’ Toy Drives.
The Renault Club of North America and the Central Penn Saab Club are selling a unique poster this year to benefit the Toys for Tots Drive. The poster was designed by Claudio Campolieto and honors our late friend, John Webber. John was an avid Central Penn Saab Club member and Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals attendee. Since almost the beginning of the Toy Drive, John provided his car as the donation collection point under the Saab tent and then he would drive the toys over to Building R. The poster shows his Saab 99T Aero with toys in the trunk, in front of the iconic Carlisle Events Marquee.

While it may not be possible to drop a Toys 4 Tots donation in John’s car, this poster might at least serve as a memory of previous years’ Toy Drives.
Rest in peace John and know that the Toys for Tots Drive appreciates all of your efforts to serve the needs of children in Cumberland, Perry and York counties through the years.

It’s our pleasure to host the Toys for Tots Toy Drive in conjunction with the Central PA Chapter of the Renault Owners Club. The Renault Owners Club has been organizing this activity at our event since 2014. The goal is simple: to deliver joy to children who would otherwise not receive it. Together, we are asking all attendees to bring a new, unwrapped toy with them to the show and drop it off at the official Toys for Tots collection point at Building R.
Grab a toy on your way to the show. If you don’t have time to shop, cash is more than welcome, too. The Toys for Tots volunteers will gladly do the shopping for you. Challenge your friends, club members or family to see who can donate the most. Thank you to the Central PA Chapter of the Renault Owners Club for all of your hard work each year!

This year’s seminar will take place in Building R beginning at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 15th. So come on by and learn what’s new in this growing segment of the classic car aftermarket from someone who has already gone through it. We hope to see you there!
Have you ever become frustrated from constantly adjusting the carburetor on your vintage car? Everything is going great until one morning it won’t start or worse yet, drive up in the mountains and have to pull over and make adjustments on the side of the road. Even going as far as replacing the original carburetor only to find a new set of issues. To avoid these kinds of issues and other pitfalls, many have converted their car’s fuel system from carburetor to fuel injection and we would like to invite you to learn from someone who has already done it.
For this unique seminar, Karl Fosburg will discuss the different types of aftermarket systems as well as show off his one-of-a-kind solution that he came up with for his own personal vehicle. Following the explanation of Karl’s transformation, attendees will be able to ask questions and receive recommendations for their own personal application.

Car show season at Carlisle runs April through October and while it may feel like a normal level of fun at the venue, the reality is, there are still many local businesses and people who need support. As a way to give back and offer thanks to a community that has long supported Carlisle Events, we’re hosting donation stations and encouraging you to give at events this year. Your efforts will support Project SHARE of Carlisle, an agency that works to serve those in need by way of their food pantry through their vision statement “Nourishing Our Community…Awakening Hope!”
Running now through the conclusion of Fall Carlisle (October 3), donation bins will be positioned near the entry gates of the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds during car show event weekends. Donations of healthy, pantry staple items are encouraged. Suggested items include canned fruit with no added sugar, low sodium canned vegetables, whole grains (like whole wheat pasta, brown rice and oatmeal), canned tuna and low sodium beans. In addition, financial donations may be processed through their website or even more conveniently by TEXT by texting the words CARLISLE EVENTS (case does not matter) to 44321. You will then be able to select your support level to help nourish our community.
Learn more about Project SHARE, how you can donate and more via their web page which is linked below. We thank you in advance for your support.

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?”

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!
BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day.Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride.
ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for. It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare.
