In 1973 two friends, Bill Miller and Chip Miller (no relation) devised a plan to start an automotive event that served the interests of “car people like us.” Less than a year later in September of 1974, on a rented Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, their vision and a company called the "Fleamarketeers" came to life with an event known as Post War ’74. 50 years later, Post War ’74 (now Fall Carlisle) and the Fleamarketeers (now Carlisle Events) are thriving and stronger than ever.  

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of Carlisle Events in 2024! The celebration spans the entirety of the 2024 Carlisle Events car show season. When you come to our shows this year, you’ll notice commemorative signage, merchandise, photos, and more! Monster truck themed family fun will return to Carlisle Truck Nationals! At Truck Nationals, we’ll offer you the whole seat in the grandstands, but you’ll only need the edge! Times are to be determined, but a tentative show schedule is below. Watch with amazement and excitement as two monster trucks, Avenger and Brutus, duke it out in car crushing exhibitions throughout the event weekend. Rev up for an electrifying addition to the Carlisle Truck Nationals tailored just for the kids! On Saturday, August 3rd, watch as the excitement of racing unfolds with the Kids Power-Wheels Racing event, proudly ran by Oxford Power-Wheels Racing by Teter Built and Fast Kids Club. Let your little ones dive into the action hands-on! 
 
Participation is absolutely FREE! Simply pre-register online and bring out their Power Wheels vehicle to the event. Registration will also be available at the event, but pre-registration is recommended. Please note that admission to the Carlisle Truck Nationals is required for entry, but worry not, kids ages 12 and under enter the show for FREE. 
 
The official race schedule is yet to be determined and will be announced soon. The race itself is 60 foot Drag Racing on a full timing system. Expect the competition to heat up with three thrilling classes: Stock, Modified, and Outlaw. Unsure which class suits your Power Wheels? Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to sit in a monster truck and feel its power as you crush cars? At Carlisle this August you can do just that with the legendary Virginia Giant. Specially designed with seats in the back and a lap belt for your safety, you have the unique opportunity to ride and crush at the same time. The Virginia Giant and its ring man, Diehl Wilson are International Monster Truck Museum hall of famers and they are coming to Carlisle, excited to share their legacy with you! Tell your friends, bring your family, because this is the ride of a lifetime. 

Rides with the Virginia Giant run nearly non-stop Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A nominal fee applies per person to ride, but this is a can’t miss experience! 

When you enter Gate 3, expect the event to feel a little more down to earth. This "show within a show" welcomes lowered trucks all in one designated area inside Gate 3! If you want to be a part of the Low Show, simply register with your club (or sign up your club HERE). If you are not part of a club, when you register for the Showfield, click the "Truck Club" dropdown and select the "Low Show- No Club Affiliation."

Part of what makes Truck Nationals what it is, are the clubs that attend! If your club is not yet deemed an Officially Recognized Club, the first step is to apply HERE. Officially Recognized Clubs have the ability to rent a club tent as a place to hang out and socialize!

If your club gets a club tent, you also have the chance to compete in our Hemmings Club Challenge & Coolest Club Contest! The Hemmings Club Challenge Award is presented to the three largest official clubs, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Coolest Club Contest is based on if we feel like your club tent is the place we'd want to hangout in. Whether that be the atmosphere, decorations, or anything else that makes the club stand out!

Additionally, if you are part of a fleet, you have the ability to participate in the Fleet Challenge & the Coolest Convoy! The Fleet Challenge Award is presented to the largest fleet at the show, while the Coolest Convoy is presented to the group that looks to be having a great time with their fleet!

The not-for-profit American Truck Historical Society was formed in 1971 to preserve the history of trucks, the trucking industry and its pioneers. We are excited to welcome a regional showing of American Truck Historical Society members at the Carlisle Truck Nationals.

Look for their trucks in the Featured Vehicle Displays and on the Showfield (behind the American Collectors Insurance Pavilion) and be sure to talk with their members about trucks and the history of trucks. Like most of us here, we all like to share our passions for trucks.

The ATHS has over 21,000 members in the United States, Australia, Canada and 20 other countries worldwide. To be picked for the Carlisle Elite, your car doesn’t have to be rare or a high dollar, professional restoration. In fact, the only real criteria is that it catches our collective eye. Make sure your vehicle is registered and parked on the Showfield on Friday to be eligible!

When the sun goes down Saturday night, the Big Rig area lights up! The Big Rig Glow Show is something you don't see anywhere else. Stick around and see this fun light display on Saturday evening. The Carlisle Events' staff will award the coolest lit-up rig to receive a trophy on Sunday.

On Saturday evening of Carlisle Truck Nationals, visit the track to get your fix for tire burning excitement during the Rolling Burnout Contest!

The contest is limited to 25 contestants and sign-ups will begin Friday at Guest Services. You must be a registered participant at the show and provide your driver’s license & insurance card when signing up.

Are your standards low? Do you long to let your friends down? Are your goals simply not as high as some of the lifted lifers at the Truck Nationals?

If you can answer yes to those questions and you own a lowered truck, you just might be the perfect participant for the Low Truck Limbo at the Carlisle Truck Nationals. Join us Saturday as we lower the bar and lower our standards of measurement. We invite all of our lowered life pavement scraping friends to get down at the grandstands for the Low Truck Limbo. We promise DJ Rob will do his job and set the atmosphere, while we lower the bar for your enjoyment and look forward awarding the lowest possible performer of the Carlisle Truck Nationals limbo.

Join or watch the High Truck Contest on Saturday of the Truck Nationals. Lifted truck builders share and show the lifted life and their sky view seats at the Grandstand. We’ll take a measurement from the ground to the pinch weld and after a quick tally and simple math, we’ll award a winner!

The Low Show has peaked the interest of those wanting to participate in the annual Frame Dragging Contest. As some may know, the trucks that have Titanium Blocks spark like crazy, but the ones without Titanium Blocks don't as much. In order to make things inclusive for all lowered trucks, we are judging on two categories within the same contest. We will crown three winners for trucks with Titanium Blocks & three winners for trucks without Titanium Blocks. As an attendee, this just means you get to see more trucks dragging down the hill on Saturday night! If you want to participate in the contest, visit Guest Services at the event to sign up. Space is limited! If you like’em low and laid out, this is the spot to be on Saturday night!

When you bring your kids to this year's Truck Nationals, there will be different things they can participate in at the show! Check them out below: 

Ride a Real Monster Truck- Climb aboard the Virginia Giant ride truck for a ride that will have you on the edge of your seat as you crush cars near the autocross track. The Virginia Giant is suitable for guests of all ages, and makes a great activity for the whole family!

Monster Truck & FMX Shows- Watch with amazement and excitement as Monster Trucks duke it out in car crushing exhibitions throughout the event weekend. Accompanying the Monster Truck Shows on Friday & Saturday will be FMX shows! Check out the event guide for the official show times. 

Face Painting & Balloon Twisting - Kids can get their face painted and balloon artwork from Kels Kraftiness on Saturday (10AM - 4PM) beside the Monster Truck Rides. Fees apply.

Kid's Goody Bag- Available for pickup at Guest Services for kids 12 and under! Parents will receive a goody bag coupon for each kid when they pick up their Showfield Goody Bag or when coming in with a spectator admission ticket. Some goodies within the bag are a coloring book, free cup with a coupon for a free drink at the food court and more! Limit one per child, child must be present. 

RC Car Giveaway & Kids Cash Grab- Kids 12 and under can sign-up to potentially win an RC Car! When signing up for the giveaway, they are also eligible to be chosen for the Kid's Cash Grab. The Giveaway sign-up is located in Guest Services. Winners of the RC Car & kids selected for the Cash Grab will be contacted via phone!

Kids Bingo- Kids 12 and under can participate in Kid's Bingo and potentially win some cool prizes! Check out the event guide for the time and location.

Kids Choice Award- Kids can cast a vote for their favorite car within Building T and the owner of the car will get an award!

Get all the glory on Sunday by sharing your winning vehicle in the Winner’s Circle and Awards Presentation. Winning trucks will have an opportunity to showcase their vehicles during the Truck Nationals winners parades!

The winner’s list for the light truck Showfield will be posted at 9AM. Big Rigs awards will be announced in the pavilion at 9:30AM. Both fields of winners will have an opportunity to show in award’s presentation on Sunday.

Professional photography is available for winners at the parade ceremony and available on-site for purchase. This is one of the best seats in the house to see the best trucks on the fields for Truck Nationals weekend.

For participants that cannot attend the presentation, your award can be picked up Sunday between 9AM -11AM. If you are unable to attend on Sunday, your award may be picked up during regular business hours at the fairgrounds or you may arrange to have your award shipped for a $15 fee.

For decades, buying a ticket to a car show at Carlisle meant arriving the day of, pulling out your wallet and paying cash at the gate. While that still is an option, you can plan ahead and purchase your admission ONLINE! When you purchase tickets online, you’ll receive a confirmation e-mail with a bar code. This code will be scanned at the gate for access. It’s that simple! Help those in need at most events this season.  Give generously to members of local Lions Clubs as they staff our gates (varies by event) and accept donations for their Lions Vision Initiative program.  They'll also be at the Carlisle Truck Nationals in August with their custom wrapped big rig, again accepting donations as well as offering free vision screening for guests age 12 and under.  The screenings can help identify any markers or abnormalities that may prompt a parent to further the results to an optometrist.

Enjoy the final moments and aspects of what surely was an amazing event weekend.  Gates open at 7AM to start shopping for last minute deals from remaining vendors. 

Sunday at Carlisle offers FREE parking in any Carlisle operated parking lot. Additionally, if you had purchased an event ticket from a prior day, bring it back in on Sunday and get in for FREE (or pay regular admission without an event ticket from prior day)!

Are you looking for some items that you may have seen at the event? Well, we may have you covered on our eBay store, Carlisle Overstock! Here we list any "extras" that were available at the events. Items range from special display banners and license plates to unique show diecast and stickers! You never know what you may find...

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?” 

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!

1. BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
2. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
3. SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
4. REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
5. COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
6. ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
7. NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
8. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
9. LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
10. USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
11. STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day. Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
12. BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
13. BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
14. HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
15. FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride. 
16. ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
17. KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
18. AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
19. WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
20. ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for.  It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare.
