In 1988 and 1989 General Motors and John Powell created the Corvette Challenge Series. As in years past, Corvettes at Carlisle is proud to host a reunion for these very special Corvettes. If you have a Corvette Challenge Car, we welcome you to be a part of this incredible display. It’s always a fan-favorite and such an important part of Corvette history. 
 
As a spectator this will be a display for the history books! As a participant you and a guest will be able to enjoy all the regular Corvettes at Carlisle excitement plus the following:

When you Gate-N-Go, we'll send you all applicable paperwork in advance. This way, you can affix your window sticker at home and drive right onto the grounds and immediately begin having a great time.

Even if you miss the 10% savings and Gate-N-Go deadline, you can still pre-register. Pre-registration remains available until show week. When you pre-register, you cruise up to the Fun Field Registration office, bypass one line, pick up your packet and return to your car. National Council of Corvette Clubs

Corvettes at Carlisle ALWAYS shine a spotlight on a special 50-year display of Corvettes. For 2024, we focus on the 1974 C3.  The special gathering of 1974 Corvettes is happening during event weekend, August 22-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds. 

2024 honors 50 years of the 1974 Corvette and the always popular display is accepting applications! See a great array of Corvettes positioned under a special display tent. Each display car will be in position from Wednesday the 21st (set up day) through the end of the event on Saturday night.

For 1974, a new rear bumper system replaced the squared tail and chrome rear bumper blades introduced in 1967 with a trim, tapering urethane cover carrying an integral license plate holder and recesses for the trademark round taillights. Underneath sat a box-section aluminum impact bar on two Omark-bolt slider brackets similar to the system used in the nose which allowed the Corvette to pass federal five-mph impact tests at the rear as well as the front. The new rear design was more up-to-date than the 60's shape that it replaced with the vast majority of enthusiasts embracing the new design. For the 1974 model only, casting limitations mandated left and right bumper covers with a vertical center seam. The anti-theft alarm key activator was moved from the rear panel to the front left fender. Tailpipes were now turned down as the new bumper cover eliminated the tailpipe extensions.

Some of the top minds in their respective fields come to Corvettes at Carlisle and if you do the same, you have the unique opportunity to sit in and learn first-hand from them by way of FREE Seminars.

Topics and speakers vary, but they may cover the history of a particular generation of Corvette, how to upgrade or enhance your ride without voiding a warranty, driving tips and more. You'll hear from certified GM technicians, engineers, expert drivers car care experts and restorers. In fact, as the seminar list goes, here are some details on what's confirmed to date.

1)  Paul Koerner and the Corvette Mechanic Team:  Corvettes at Carlisle has been fortunate to have the expertise and support of GM World-Class Certified Technician since 2004.  Offering free diagnostics for your Corvette and seminars ranging from early to late-model Corvettes, there is something for everyone!

More seminars and the special guests who host them will be announced during the first half of 2024. Then, when the official event guide goes live in August, you'll get a complete run down of what you can expect at Corvettes at Carlisle.

The Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation is hosting a special dinner on Friday of Corvettes at Carlisle. This is your chance to honor the man who started it all and support a great cause. Meet special Corvette themed guests, indulge with great food and drinks, participate in raffles and enjoy a live auction. All proceeds from this great event directly benefit the CMAF. While there are many great dining options in the region, there aren't many places other then the Carlisle Expo Center that can accommodate groups the size of our passionate club enthusiasts. Why not consider making this your club's Friday night dinner destination?  Keep your Friday going by joining the fun.  Don't wait though, this dinner is sure to sell out! Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation

Carlisle residents come out to watch this annual parade in the heart of the downtown historic district presented by the Downtown Carlisle Association. Corvettes parade from the fairgrounds to downtown Carlisle where they park in the area around the town square and have time to enjoy the downtown ambiance and many restaurants. It’s a huge street party - complete with a band – that you’ll want to make part of your Carlisle experience.

Participation in the parade is limited so be sure to pre-register. You must be a registered participant at Corvettes at Carlisle in order to signup for the parade (Fun Field, Vendor, Sponsor or Car Corral). The registration fee is $40 through parade day while parade slots remain.  The parade did sell out last year, so don't delay...register today.  Registration includes a goody bag with a parade T-shirt & special parade dash plaque.

PLEAE NOTE:  Visit the DCA at the Guest Services building during the event to register for the 2024 parade.  Day of Show/Onsite Registration commences at 8 AM on 8/24 and once the parade is full, it's full. All vehicles must be staged prior to 6:30 PM for departure.

NEW Route returning for 2024! With the planned implementation of a two-year road construction project which includes the installation of at least one roundabout, changes to the Corvettes at Carlisle parade route are required. These changes are beyond the control of Carlisle Events and the DCA. The new route was carefully evaluated and crafted in a combined effort by the DCA, Carlisle Events, and local authorities. Participant vehicles will now stage at the Carlisle Expo Center and then proceed south on Pitt St. before turning left (and right) on High St. Cars that turn left will then cruise to the downtown square before either going straight and continuing on High St. or turning both left and right on North Hanover St. This route, while different from the standard path into downtown, gives even more of the Carlisle community a chance to see your wheels in motion AND gives those along High St. and North Hanover St. a chance to enjoy the festivities from a whole new angle. Part of what makes Corvettes at Carlisle what it is, are the clubs that attend! If your club is not yet deemed an Officially Recognized Club, the first step is to apply. Officially Recognized Clubs with 25 or more vehicles registered have the ability to rent a club tent as a place to hang out and socialize throughout the show!

If your club gets a club tent, you also have the chance to compete in our Hemmings Club Challenge & Coolest Club Contest! The Hemmings Club Challenge Award is presented to the three largest official clubs, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Hemmings Club Challenge also awards the top three registries, based on the number of registered show vehicles. The Coolest Club Contest is based on if we feel like your club tent is the place we'd want to hangout in. Whether that be the atmosphere, decorations, or anything else that makes the club stand out!

One of the best parts of the Corvette weekend is spending time with some of the most relevant names in the Corvette hobby. What tops that? Having your Corvette chosen as a Celebrity Choice Award winner! The “ celebrities” are notable people within the Corvette hobby, such as GM engineers who were the visionaries behind the cars you love, club leaders who make it their mission to bring people to the event each year, Corvette dignitaries and special guests from throughout the Corvette world. Receiving a Celebrity Choice award is a true honor when a celebrity is selecting your car from a Fun Field filled with beautiful Corvettes representing all generations. The choice is theirs alone and can be for any reason- the color, your story, the year. The choice is the car that speaks to them on a personal level rather than traditional judging, as there is no point scoring. 

Celebrity Choice selections will start on Friday at 10AM and runs through Saturday at 1PM. All Corvettes at Carlisle registered Fun Field participants are eligible to be selected as a celebrity choice winner. 
If your car is chosen as a winner, the Celebrity will place a sticker on your windshield and you will be eligible to participate in the Awards Parade in front of the stage. During the parade, your name will be announced as you pull up to the stage to receive the award from the Miller family. The parade is a great photo-op for family and friends. A photographer will be taking pictures of each car as it drives through the parade. Don’t miss this opportunity to show the world your Celebrity Choice!

If you cannot attend the parade, your award can be picked up throughout the weekend at Guest Services (see event guide for times). After the show you may pick up your award during regular business hours at the fairgrounds or we will ship awards for $20.

Ready, Set, Go! Corvette owners, you now have a chance to showcase just what your ride sounds like in a standalone environment. Forget about revving your engine just to turn heads, now you’re on the go and all eyes are on you Thursday, Friday and Saturday as part of Corvettes at Carlisle! Don't miss the competition as Corvettes will start in a line on the east side of the grounds near the pavilion/Gate 6 and roar as they accelerate up the hill to the north side of the grounds. This will also be judged but take note, the best overall sound will take home the prize, not necessarily the loudest.

The contest consists of three rounds, with each round hosting a maximum of 10 Corvettes. Entrants are accepted for sign-up on a first come first served basis and we do expect each round to be filled so please sign up early. From the three rounds we will select a number of cars to move on to the finale on Saturday. The list of who qualified for the finale will be posted on Saturday at Guest Services near the Grandstand. You must participate in a qualifying round to have a chance to participate in the finale!

The Exhaust Competition is FREE but you MUST be a registered Fun Field participant to be eligible to compete! Again, sign up in Guest Services starting Thursday at 7 AM.  You may only signup for one qualifying round!

The only thing better than a show-ready Corvette is a show-ready Corvette on the race track! Lingenfelter Performance wants you to be our new King of the X!  Showcase your Corvette and see what it can really do by taking it to the track!

Returning this year, if you simply want to put your car on the track for some laps and fun, that is FREE.  The onsite Carlisle Autocross allows drivers to run the road course, compare their times to each other, participate in some friendly competition, or simply try your Corvette on a track for the first time! Novice or skilled, there’s nothing to lose!  If you’ve always wondered how your Corvette may perform or how advanced you are at handling a track, this is the perfect opportunity for you!  Open track times begin Thursday at 1 PM and registration is required. 

How about the chance to be titled the KING OF THE X? Win some CASH?  Lingenfelter Performance has you covered!   While the track laps are free for fun, if you're looking to COMPETE for the CASH as part of KING OF THE X, that's $20.  For your fee, you may submit your times for a chance to have not only bragging rights and some extra cash in your pocket but the title of Lingenfelter Performance KING OF THE X!  

There are TWO competition categories; Performance and Street.  Qualifying sessions run Thursday 1 PM - 4 PM, Friday 8 AM - 3 PM and Saturday 8 AM - 11 AM  The Shootout begins at Noon!  

Each driver may take up to four runs of two laps each. All runs will be timed and recorded and the fastest five runs in each class from the qualifying runs will participate in the Noon Saturday Shootout. ($20 entry fee must be paid at registration to be eligible for the King of the X showdown) In each class, there's first, second and third place; paying $300, $200 and $100 respectively.  Corvettes at Carlisle and Lingenfelter Performance offer you the chance to win a portion of $1,000. Hosted by the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club (CVCC), this is your chance to go fast and win as part of this very unique AutoX Shootout!

Participants must have a registered (and street legal) car on the Corvettes at Carlisle Fun Field, be 18 years of age or older and have a valid license and insurance. Participants are REQUIRED to bring their own helmets for safety. You will be unable to participate if you don't have one. 

Helmets are REQUIRED. Helmets must be SNELL Foundation certified, either “SA” (Special Application),“SAH” (Special Application Helmets Configured for use with frontal head restraints), “M” (motorcycle), or “EA” (Elite Automotive Sports). A SNELL foundation rating of “K” (karting) is NOT allowed. A DOT approval is not sufficient without the SNELL certification. A helmet from the second previous testing cycle is also allowed if it is SNELL certified and has a manufacture date less than ten (10) years old. e.g., in the year 2014, SNELL ratings of SA2005 or M2005 and SA2010 or M2010 will be legal. In addition, a SA2000 or M2000 helmet would be legal until they exceed 10 years of age.

The NCRS Gallery's purpose is to present an ever-changing unique Corvette collection in a true gallery exhibit format. This enables non-NCRS members to have a better understanding of the National Corvette Restorers Society and the group’s goals and purposes. The collection is made up of select Corvettes representing many NCRS Judging Classes, Duntov Mark of Excellence Award® winners, McLellan Mark of Excellence Award® winners, NCRS-Chevrolet Bowtie Award® recipients for Preservation Excellence, American Heritage Award® recipients, and Sportsman Award® Corvettes.

National Corvette Restorers Society

On Saturday at noon, we would like for all drivers near their Corvettes to start their engines and give them a good rev for 15 seconds in tribute to Chip Miller (co-founder of Carlisle Events) and all of our other Corvette friends that have passed, followed by a brief moment of silence.

When you bring your kids to this year's Corvettes at Carlisle, there will be different things they can participate in at the show! Check them out below: 

Kid's Goody Bag- Available for pickup at Guest Services for kids 12 and under! Parents will receive a goody bag coupon for each kid when they pick up their Showfield Goody Bag or when coming in with a spectator admission ticket. Some goodies within the bag are a coloring book, free cup with a coupon for a free drink at the food court and much more! Limit one per child, child must be present.

RC Car Giveaway & Kids Cash Grab- Kids 12 and under can sign-up to potentially win an RC Car! When signing up for the giveaway, they are also eligible to be chosen for the Kid's Cash Grab. The Giveaway sign-up is located in Guest Services. Winners of the RC Car & kids selected for the Cash Grab will be contacted via phone!

Kids Choice Award- Kids can cast a vote for their favorite car within Building T and the owner of the car will get an award!

Face Painting & Balloon Twisting - Kids can get their face painted and balloon artwork from Kels Kraftiness in front of the Women's Oasis Tent on Saturday (10AM - 4PM). Fees apply.

For decades, buying a ticket to a car show at Carlisle meant arriving the day of, pulling out your wallet and paying cash at the gate. This year Ronald McDonald House Central Valley is raffling a 70th Anniversary Edition 2023 Corvette Stingray, a numbers matching 1965 Corvette Stingray convertible, a beautifully restored 1969 Chevelle SS, and even a Hawaii Getaway Package. Proceeds from their fundraiser will go towards providing a “Home Away From Home” for families while their children are being treated in a local hospital. Each room at the Central Valley Ronald McDonald House has two queen size beds, private restroom and satellite TV. Guests share common areas such as kitchens, laundry rooms, and other common living areas. Some families stay for a few days, while others stay for weeks or even months, depending on the severity of their child’s illness.

Carlisle Events hasn’t forgotten that sometimes it’s nice to take a break from automotive shopping.  Join our amazing vendors and artisans selling items such as handmade crafts, jewelry and accessories, kitchen must-haves, unique clothing, treats to temp you, scents to relax you, beauty products and so much more!  Done shopping? The tent is also home to some incredibly, and often tasty, seminars and special services offered by the vendors. Refer to the Event Guide for the official location (published two weeks prior to the event).

The Carlisle PA Fairgrounds is a large footprint that can be a challenge at times, even for the most experienced attendee. 82 acres, 16+ miles of paved roadway, vendors and cars everywhere…it’s easy to understand how you may start wondering to yourself “where did I see that part or car I want to buy?” “How do I get my purchase from its space to my truck?” “How am I going to do this?” 

Never fear, because we’ve compiled a helpful list of ways that enhance your on-site experience at Carlisle! Thanks for joining us and enjoy your time at the show!

1. BRING CASH - The more the better. It’s hard to negotiate a deal without being able to pay.
2. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES - It’s a lot of walking.
3. SUN BLOCK/DRINK LIQUIDS - You’ll be in the sun all day. It’s important to protect yourself and stay hydrated, especially if your weekend outdoors is your first prolonged exposure to the sun for the year.
4. REMEMBER THE SPACE - Take a picture of the space location or write it down. Every space at Carlisle has a disk to designate the space. Look down and you’ll see the space marker. Write down the letter and number. Don’t try to remember the space or the surrounding area. You’ll spend the rest of the day looking for it.
5. COME EARLY - Rare parts and great deals typically happen for the first person to find them. Set up day(s) and the first day of the event are for the serious shoppers.
6. ACT FAST - If you see a great deal, grab it. If you plan to come back later, it will probably be gone.
7. NEGOTIATE - It’s a flea market so don’t be afraid to make a REASONABLE offer.
8. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED - Chances are good that you will find something you weren’t planning to find, so keep your eyes open.
9. LOOK EVERYWHERE - Even if you are looking for parts for your brand of vehicle, don’t walk past the vendor selling parts for other models or generations just because you assume there’s no way the vendor has what you want. Give their space a look too. They might not only have it, it may be cheap since it’s not what they typically sell.
10. USE THE CARLISLE EVENTS APP - Use the FREE Carlisle Events app to easily find your way back to a vendor (if you know the row and space). You can also use it to check activity schedules, register for other events, connect with fellow enthusiasts via social media, browse a digital copy of the event guide and more.
11. STAY LATE – There are always deals at Carlisle, but sometimes the best ones happen early on day 1 of a show, or late on its final day. Vendors are typically more willing to negotiate when they are packing up – especially large items.
12. BRING A SHOPPING LIST - Our memories aren’t as good as we think. Write it down. You can even make a list on your phone. Take pictures of what you need.
13. BRING A BAG, CART, ETC. - Parts will get heavy so have a way to carry your purchases. Ask the seller if you can leave heavy parts until later.
14. HAVE IT HAULED - Carlisle Events offers FREE* parts hauling. Keep that in mind if you’re looking at an engine, transmission, truck bed, etc.
15. FREE TAXI SERVICE – Need to get from point A to point B but don’t feel like walking it? Carlisle Events offers a FREE* taxi service. Dial 717-960-6429 to secure a ride. 
16. ASK! - If someone has parts for a vehicle but not the ones you need, ask if the seller has it. It might still be in his truck or at home. Even if he doesn’t, he might know someone who does.
17. KNOW THE VALUE - Do some homework on the parts you’re looking for so you know if the price is a good deal.
18. AVOID THE CROWDS - When you arrive, go to an out-of-the-way area to start rather than following the herd.
19. WALK IT ALL - Don’t miss any rows. The Carlisle Fairgrounds isn’t a perfect grid so make sure you hit every row and space.
20. ADVERTISE - Wear a hat, shirt or signboard that spotlights what you’re looking for.  It just might create a conversation, especially if what you’re searching for is obscure and/or rare. 

*While parts hauling and taxi service are free, donations are graciously accepted.  Donated money goes directly to the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation. 

 

Help those in need at most events this season.  Give generously to members of local Lions Clubs as they staff our gates (varies by event) and accept donations for their Lions International Disaster Relief program.  Look for Lions in a yellow vest with a black donation tin in hand.  Last year, with your support, $10,000 was raised and donated to the Carlisle branch of the Salvation Army to support humanitarian relief efforts in war-torn Ukraine.  This year, your support benefits those in need, foreign and domestic; all by way of the Lions International Disaster Relief Program.  Can’t donate in person?  Learn more about the Lions program online by way of the links below.
