PLANNING FOR 2012
Lightweight / 427 / 406 Tri-Power Reunion
The Lightweight / 427 / 406 Tri-Power Reunion, along with a very special feature called “The Cammer Conglomeration,” is coming your way in 2012. Join Joe Conlon and Charlie Morris, the men behind the Lightweight Galaxie reunion in 2003 and Thunderbolt reunion in 2004, as they lead the way along with host, Butch Engelbrecht of San Diego. This display is expected to be the largest gathering of SOHC 427 Ford powered vehicles ever seen in one place.
Featured vehicles for the reunion will include several beautifully restored “R” code 1967 Fairlanes, 1963 ½ and 64 Lightweight Galaxies, 1964 A/FX Comets, 406 and 427 powered full size Fords and Mercury’s. Also on display will be the one of a kind F-100XL drag pickup built by Ford sub-contractor Dearborn Steel Tubing Company. The truck was pulled from a barn several years ago and given a cosmetic restoration back to its last raced appearance.
Special celebrity guests include Ford Drag Team members; Al Joniec, Hubert Platt, Ed Terry and John Healey, legendary engine builder and former crew chief to Dyno Don Nicholson, Earl Wade and Mr. Bill Holbrook, Supervisor at Ford’s Experimental Vehicles Garage. Charlie Morris will have copies of his latest book, "The Ford Drag Team," available as well.

Win an X427 Crate Engine
Ford Racing/Carlisle Events to Give you More Power!
The company that created the famous 427 FE engine now offers another modern version of the legendary motor. The X427, designed for street use, has joined the Ford Racing Z427 that was introduced in 2010. Fitted with the legendary Ford Racing X-Heads, the X427 delivers 520 foot-pounds of torque. Built on Ford Racing's new BOSS 351 block, this new 427 crate engine is engineered and built to deliver a strong, flat torque curve. That translates into tire-smoking acceleration for street rods, kit cars, muscle cars and provides plenty of power and torque for light-duty pickups and SUV's.
With our Lightweight/427/406 Reunion taking place, this engine will be THE GEM best suited for your machine.
Contest rules and a link to register are NOW available. Please note, the photo is not of the actual engine, rather a stock shot from the Ford Racing web page.
