Carlisle Events Heads to Philadelphia International Auto Show
Carlisle to Aid Ford and Regional Enthusiasts for an Automotive Face-Off
Thursday, January 17, 2013
In the coming months, the 2013 Carlisle-based schedule will open, allowing tens of thousands of automotive enthusiasts to travel to Carlisle, Pennsylvania for a variety of automotive excitement. Two of those events, the Carlisle Ford Nationals and the Carlisle GM Nationals, host a pair of the automotive world's most popular cars, the Mustang and the Camaro. While those cars will remain stand-alone icons of their respective shows this summer, the two will square off at the Philadelphia International Auto Show and Carlisle Events will be there to help with this one-of-a-kind face-off.
As part of the contest at the auto show, January 19-27 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, local Mustang and Camaro clubs will display their best cars for show goers to experience and evaluate. The contest will take place in rooms 201 and 204, located on the bridge between the Main Exhibit Hall and the Grand Hall. As part of each display, more than a dozen cars will be on hand and enthusiasts can vote for their favorite piece of American muscle onsite and in person via conveniently located kiosks. After days of examination and voting, the results will be tabulated at the conclusion of the event. The club with the most votes will be declared the winner. Each group is competing for bragging rights and for the ability to say that their car, be it a Mustang or Camaro, is better than the other.
With so many "power players" gathered in one location during the event, Carlisle Events is excited to be included as part of this competition. Staff from Carlisle will be onsite assisting staff from Ford and the Philly area Ford-themed car clubs in the automotive evaluation, all while interacting with enthusiasts. Though Carlisle Events has been very visible in recent years at the auto show, it is the first time in the 112-year history of the historic nearly ten-day event that Carlisle will be such a prevalent player.
"This is such a great opportunity for us (Carlisle Events) to be able to work with Ford," said Carlisle Ford Nationals event manager Ken Appell. "By being part of this face-off, we can show our support of Ford, especially considering how much they support us. It's also a great way to talk and interact with our friends in the Philly area Mustang clubs." Appell concluded by noting that "our presence at the auto show also gives us a great forum to interact with automotive enthusiasts from all over who will converge on the City of Brotherly Love."
