2011 Carlisle Events Schedule offers Dream Door Prizes

It’s become tradition at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds to award one lucky attendee the prize of a free car, free motorcycle or a free engine. This year the tradition continues, but with a twist. Beginning with the Import & Kit Nationals and lasting through Corvettes at Carlisle ANYONE can win the prize of a lifetime. The total value of the 2011 prizes is nearly $80,000.


Free rides up for grabs include a 1976 Toyota Corolla Liftback (Import & Kit Nationals), a 1971 Pinto Runabout Hatchback (Ford Nationals), a 1975 Cosworth Vega (GM Nationals), a 2010 Kawasaki Ninja 250R and a 2011 Harley-Davidson Iron 883 (Bike Fest) and a 1991 ZR1 Corvette (Corvettes at Carlisle). There will also be a car given away at the Chrysler Nationals, year make and model to be determined.


In addition to select shows awarding a free car, engines will be up for grabs as well. During the Ford Nationals, Ford Racing is partnering with Carlisle Events to award a brand new 5.0L V-8 Coyote engine. With an estimated value at more than $7,000, this crate engine is the perfect “last piece” to your Ford puzzle.


The Ford Nationals isn’t the only chance to win an engine in 2011. As part of the GM Nationals, Carlisle Events is teaming with Gardner Competition Engines from East Clairdon, Ohio and Auto Enthusiast Magazine to present a GM LS-series Small Block V8 engine to one lucky winner. This fuel-injected engine is expected to produce as much as 500 horsepower with the reliability and durability you would expect from The General.


Finally, at the Chrysler Nationals in July, one person will win an engine courtesy of Muscle Motors and Mopar Muscle. This year’s engine is a 450-inch big block stroker based on a 383 block. This engine has a lot of torque, runs on pump gas, and uses a hydraulic roller-camshaft for low maintenance.
