Catch Up With the Scikotics Ward at Carlisle May 14-15
Thursday, April 28, 2011
Carlisle Events is excited to welcome the dedicated, fun and enthusiastic Scikotics Car Club and its east coast members as part of the 2011 Performance & Style event, May 14-15 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.
The get-together, held during the 16th edition of Carlisle Performance & Style is part of the inaugural Scikotics Ward @ Carlisle gathering. Performance & Style, the largest event of its kind on the east coast, is billed as more than a car show but rather a motorsports and lifestyle festival – celebrating the hottest trends in the motorsports and custom automotive hobby.
Scikotics (pronounced ‘psychotics’) is a Scion owners club started in 2005 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today, Scikotics has over 70 chapters stretching across the US and is the largest non-profit Scion owners club in the world.
Carlisle Events will welcome members from each of the northeastern chapters which include Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Connecticut, West Virginia and New England. The club members and chapters will take over the Carlisle Pavilion, located just across from the exclusive Scion-only showfield, to display high-end chapter cars and to promote Scikotics to the mass of over 20,000 tuner, modern muscle, stance euro and VIP enthusiasts that attend the Performance & Style show each year.
What makes Scikotics different from other model-based car clubs is that most other national car clubs lack a shared method of communication. On the Scikotics.com forums, all chapters have their own area to post local events and have conversations, but there are also many common areas for members to chat about anything, whether it is Scion-related or not. This leads to a large sense of community with members from around the nation.
In addition to the Scikotics of PA Ward @ Carlisle, Performance & Style will present gatherings, competitions, activities and displays including special guest, 2010 Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., remote control drifting competitions, the ICE House – displaying custom vehicles with a focus on in-car-entertainment, NICOFest autocross racing; and much more.
