CARLISLE EVENTS EXPANDS STAFF

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

CARLISLE, PA – Carlisle Events recently added five new employees to their full-time staff. Carlisle Events is the world’s largest producer of car, truck and motorcycle entertainment for the entire family. Carlisle Events produces 10 automotive shows each season at the 82-acre Carlisle Fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Richard Markko recently relocated from the Cleveland, Ohio area to join the Carlisle Events team as an Event Manager. Markko will oversee the Carlisle All-GM Nationals and the Carlisle All-Ford Nationals. Prior to joining Carlisle Events, Markko was the Regional Marketing Manager for Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. In addition to his responsibilities at Mickey Thompson, he published "Let's Go Cruisin' Magazine" through Xtreme Productions, an event production business he owned. He enjoyed similar capacities with Super Chevy Shows, IHRA, Petersen Publishing's APG Group and the TV show, My Classic Car. Markko attended Kent State and the University of Alabama. He is an avid car guy, Harley fan, a racing aficionado and golfer. Markko has four children. He and his fianc�, Tammy Knerr, will reside in the Carlisle area.

Edward Buczeskie joined the Carlisle team in December as an Event Planner. He will manage the Carlisle Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals and Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals. A resident of Shermans Dale, Buczeskie’s previous employment was with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Aviation in Grants Management. Buczeskie is an avid car collector, his specialty being Mopar muscle cars. Buczeskie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Shippensburg University. He and his wife Nancy have two children and enjoy hiking, camping, rafting, biking and attending automotive events.

Toni Herscher is a Carlisle native and graduated from Carlisle High School. After high school, Herscher moved to California where she attended Ventura College and received her Associates of Science Degree in Business Administration. After returning to Pennsylvania, she worked several years for Eat N Park as a restaurant manager. Prior to joining Carlisle Events as an Event Specialist, Herscher worked in the accounting department of Rite Aid Corporation. She is engaged to Gary Lehman and is planning to wed this October. She is a member of the BBC Auto Club.

Jennifer Martek returns to Carlisle Events as Executive Assistant to the Partners. Martek was previously employed by the company as an Event Planner. After leaving Carlisle Events to get married and become a step-mother, she was employed by the Harrisburg Academy. Earlier in her career, Martek spent 10 years in communications, marketing and development with the Carlisle Family YMCA. She is a graduate of Penn State University and is an avid cyclist, runner and hiker. She and her husband Craig have two children and reside in Dillsburg.

Cathy Mentzer recently joined the full-time staff at Carlisle to oversee the management and marketing of the Carlisle Expo Center. Mentzer brings more than 20 years of special events and sales experience to her new position as Event and Marketing Manager of the Expo Center. She and her husband Rich reside in Carlisle with their son Josh. The Carlisle Expo Center opened in late 2005 and has been utilized for a variety of different shows and expositions.
