World Travels to Carlisle for Season Kickoff at Premier Automotive Enthusiast Venue
Spring Carlisle 2010: April 21-25 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds
Thursday, April 15, 2010
The excitement is building. You can almost hear the engines running.
Next week a worldwide fraternity of automotive enthusiasts will be trekking to Carlisle, PA for the 33rd anniversary of the Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral and the 5th edition of the Spring Carlisle Auction. Enthusiasts from all across the United States, not to mention from every continent, will come to Spring Carlisle for the car/truck parts and vehicle shopping experience unparalleled anywhere on the globe.
The Spring Carlisle event is held from Wednesday, April 21st through Sunday, April 25th while the Spring Carlisle Auction is conducted at the nearby Carlisle Expo Center the evenings of Thursday, April 22nd and Friday, April 23rd.
Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet & Corral
As the kickoff event for Carlisle Events’ season, Spring Carlisle is also the largest of the ten annual events with over 100,000 attendees expected to enter the gates and explore a veritable sea of vehicles, parts, accessories and memorabilia throughout the 102-acre grounds. Spring Carlisle’s size and scale are unsurpassed. Carlisle has built the strongest of reputations in the classic and collector car communities as being the quintessential venue at which to buy, sell and trade with total confidence.
With 8,100 vending spaces and 1,800 car corral spots, Diane Vaughn, Carlisle Events’ Director of Customer Relations reports, “With under a week until the first day of our well-planned 2010 season, we are pleased to be in a sold-out position with our vendor spaces and Car Corral reservations. Spring Carlisle is shaping up already to be a success outpacing previous years.” As it has done in years prior, Carlisle Events masterfully manages the sold-out vendor and car corral spaces with their space recycling policy. In doing so, as a car is sold – or a vendor spot opens on the grounds – the team quickly cycles in a new replacement to keep the activity and offerings fresh and ever-changing.
The Carlisle Events team works hard to reinvent the offerings of Spring Carlisle each year. For 2010, spectators will be able to see first-hand the latest and greatest products in the automotive restoration industry when they stop by the Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) tent in front of the stage at the grandstand. ARMO manufacturers know this is the ideal place to share their new product offerings with legions of automotive hobbyists and restoration enthusiasts all in one place for five days.
The weekend will also include the first anniversary of the Spring Carlisle Cruise-In on Sunday where cars, trucks, motorcycles and everything with wheels and an engine can register and enter the grounds. Vehicles owners can plan to enjoy good food, judging and last minute deals at the Swap Meet and Car Corral.
For the first time at Spring Carlisle, co-owner/co-founder Bill Miller, Jr. will have a ‘fireside chat’ with the public. Miller will share anecdotes and good memories spanning the last thirty years of Carlisle Events’ exciting past and will talk about what the future holds for the world-famous automotive venue. Bill speaks Saturday, April 24th at 1:00 p.m. in front of the grandstand.
There is going to be so much to see and do this year. Within the car and truck hobby, it is widely regarded that Spring Carlisle is an absolute must-attend for automotive enthusiasts from first-timers to long-term veterans.
