Mopar enthusiasts are some of the most social in the car hobby. With that fun and social enthusiasm, it should come as no surprise that there are many clubs in attendance at the Chrysler Nationals. In addition to the competition among the cars, there is a battle between clubs to see who has the most cars registered. As a bonus, we offer the use of a 20’ X 20’ tent to those clubs who register 25 vehicles or more. These tents are a great place to take a break and they make a great club headquarters for the weekend. Larger clubs may be eligible for a bigger tent. Contact us for details.

Beginning in 2013 Sunday admission will be reduced by half for all specialty shows, joining Spring and Fall Carlisle where half-price Sunday has been in effect. In addition, parking just outside of Gate 5 will be free (Sunday only).

Also, for the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals, Thursday will be branded as an early bird day and is an opportunity for anyone interested in the swap meet, car corral and midway aspects of the weekend to get a jump on their shopping brethren. This feature costs full price at the gate, but there will be no parking fees in Carlisle-owned and operated lots.

Finally, all children age 12 and under will be admitted free at Carlisle. Get a jump on the event, snag a deal and save some cash while coming to Carlisle!

Isn’t it great when you can come to Carlisle and see or be part of something special? In 2013, you can do just that as part of the Max Wedge Reunion. This display will feature original Max Wedge cars in stock or race trim. Our hope is to assemble a great array of Max Wedge powered cars and best of all, we invite you out to nearby Quarter Aces Drag-o-Way for a Max Wedge Shoot Out. You may not know the name Sonny Shroyer, but if you've watched an episode of the Dukes of Hazzard, you have heard of Deputy Enos Strate. Shroyer is Enos and he'll be at the Chrysler Nationals this summer to meet fans, sign autographs, pose for photos and reminisce about the Dukes of Hazzard.

Shroyer, 77, is a Georgia native who attended Florida State University to play football. When an injury ended his career, he transferred back to his home state of Georgia and ultimately graduated from the University of Georgia.

Since breaking into "showbiz," Shroyer has starred in countless films and TV shows, including the Dukes of Hazzard. Film appearances include the role of Governor Jimmie Davis in Ray and Coach Bear Bryant in Forrest Gump. Shroyer also has many notable TV appearances, including the Love Boat, Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, Alice, Hee Haw and Knots Landing.

Shroyer will be positioned in Building T Friday through Sunday. An autograph schedule will be posted outside of the building as well as within the event directory. Official times are TBD, but will likely include a pair of sessions Friday and Saturday, with a morning to mid-day session on Sunday. Your first autograph will be free on an item you've brought, however, fees may apply for onsite merchandise or additional autographs.

Don't miss out on the second annual Mopar Collectors Guide Hall of Fame ceremonies as part of Chrysler weekend. The inductions take place on Saturday, July 13 at the Radisson Hotel in nearby Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. The inductees are Don Garlits, Buddy Baker, Bill Brownlie, Roger Lindamood, Bud Faubel, Bill "Maverick" Golden, "Akron" Arlen Vanke, The Golden Commandos Club and Tom Hoover will be recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

• Mopar Hall of Fame

2013 marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic Hollywood film, Christine. Join cast members, plus a car used in the film as part of Chrysler weekend and celebrate not only the film, but it's place in automotive history.

Given the popularity of the film, will you come to see the car or the stars that it helped propel into the spotlight? No matter the case, you'll get to see an actual car that was in the film (there were many) and meet film stars Keith Gordon, Alexandra Paul, William Ostrander, Malcolm Danare and Steven Tash. All five are scheduled to appear and sign autographs, meet fans and interact with patrons all weekend. In addition, car owner Bill Gibson will be close by to talk about his association with the film car and how he procured the famous Fury. Best of all, this is the first time EVER that four of the five stars have come to the east coast for a session like this.

All stars will be positioned within Building T and will available throughout the weekend. In addition, certain fees may apply per autograph or photo. Fees are at the discretion of each individual celebrity. Finally, all stars are confirmed, but their appearance is subject to change or cancellation based on professional commitments.

Carlisle Events is proud to support Collector Car Appreciation Day. This national event will be held on July 12 and will be celebrated and observed locally as part of the Chrysler Nationals. After all, Carlisle is the home of the term "Collector Car."

As part of the event, we'll recognize many who epitomize the Collector Car hobby. We'll even have some special awards and prizes available throughout the weekend.

The weekend launches on Thursday with a Kick-Off to Carlisle party hosted by Mopar Rebellion and is held at CVM Dodge in Mechanicsburg. The Kick-Off features raffles, door prizes, inexpensive food, music, great Mopars and more. Each year the folks from Mopar select one car from the Chrysler Nationals to be placed on display at the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Carlisle is one of only four "Top Eliminator" stops. Winners chosen are featured on Mopar Alley at the SEMA event.

Classic Restos is hosted by Mark Fletcher, or "Fletch" as he's known by his loyal followers. Fletch will be at back at the Chrysler Nationals for the first time since 2011 and he is looking to feature your car or truck on his program. There are so many things that folks remember about the Dukes of Hazzard including the characters, the stunts and the cars. When it comes to the characters just about everybody remembers the shorts that Daisy Duke wore. In fact, they are so popular they took on her name. Survivors are true time capsules and are the best way to see exactly how these vehicles were originally assembled on the line. They still have their original factory applied paint, interiors and drive trains; or at least a minimum of 85% of it. Thanks to Mel Major we were able to bring you great examples for each of the last several years. We're working to do it again this year.

A common trait among the Mopar faithful is the do-it-yourself attitude. The Chrysler Nationals featured free seminars including information for both the seasoned veteran and rookie Mopar enthusiast. Previous topics have included performance, restoration and maintenance. Seminars were conducted by some of the biggest names in the business.

Remember, the Carlisle Store and Brickel’s Racing Collectibles offer site to store and site to home shipping. The younger generation is the future of the Mopar hobby and we want to make sure they have a home at the All-Chrysler Nationals. If you haven’t checked out the Young Guns classes yet, you might be surprised to see that what they are doing isn’t a whole lot different than what we “old timers” are used to. Young Guns classes are open to licensed drivers, age 16-25.
